Aires of the Jewish Colonization Association
This collection at the Central Archives for the History of
the Jewish People is a very large one, consisting of over 10,000 files, which document
the widespread activities in
The collection consists of two main series:
The administrative series which is divided into more than 20 sub series, among
them, correspondence between the office in Buenos Aires and JCA’s head
office in Paris (most of it in French), correspondence between the office in
Buenos Aires and the individual colonies in Argentina, as well as
correspondence with various Argentinian government offices and with Jewish
organizations in Argentina and abroad.
Another important group of files are the detailed reports of
the ongoing activities of the various colonies regarding the condition of the
fields, sowing, reaping, the cooperatives, the Jewish schools in which JCA
invested funds and energy, etc. Much of this information was summarized and
published in the annual reports
published by the head office in Paris (which also contained information on JCA
activities in other parts of the world).
The collection also contains numerous ledgers containing
information on bookkeeping, budgets, debts of colonists, colony censuses, etc.
Quite a few files deal with immigration and Jewish
immigrants to

The series of individual files contains about 7000 personal files,
mostly of settlers on JCA colonies in Argentina, arranged in the
alphabetic order of the colonies, and the family names of the settlers,
respectively.
The files generally contain lease or purchase contracts
between JCA and individual settlers (or between JCA and institutions,
such as Jewish cooperatives or government agencies) and occasionally
partnership agreements between several colonists and JCA. The files
often contain detailed plans of farms or of fields.
Some of the files refer to plots of land purchased by Jewish
and even non-Jewish settlers in the urban centers which JCA began
establishing in close proximity to the colonies, from 1907 onwards.
It should be noted that the list does not refer to all of
the colonists. Not all of the files arrived in
It should also be noted that individual colonies often
contained a number of smaller groups, bearing different names. The colony
Clara, for instance, contained over 10 groups, among them: Curbelo, Feinberg,
Guinzburg, Belez, Carlos etc. In order to locate a colonist from a particular
group, it is necessary to know to which colony the group belonged.

The Israeli Association for the
Promotion of the Research of Latin American
Jewry was founded in 1986 with the objectives of promoting the
teaching and research on the Jewish communities in Latin America as well as
to arouse the general interest of the Israeli public and to provide the
necessary information. Among the founders of the association were members of
AMILAT, a research Association on the Jews in Since its foundation, the association has
participated in the organization of academic conferences, symposia and

מקיפים חומר רב מאוד (הכלולים בכ-10000 תיקים), אשר מתארים את הפעילות הענפה
שביצעה חברת ההתיישבות המיישבת מיסודה של הברון הירש. עקב איפיוניהם המיוחדים של
המסמכים הם מוינו לשתי סד
הסדרה המינהלית הכוללת יותר מ-20
נושאי משנה, מהם אפשר לציין תחומים בולטים אלה: ההתכתבות בין הנהלת יק"א
בפריס לבין הדירקטורים של החברה בארגנטינה (רובה בשפה הצרפתית במשך שנים רבות),
ההתכתבות בין ההנהלה בבואנוס איירס לבין המושבות, וכן עם מוסדות שונים יהודים
וממשלתיים.
כמו כן בולט אוסף גדול של
דוחות עניניים ומפורטים ביותר על הפעילות השוטפת במושבות, מצב השדות, הזריעה,
הקציר, הקואופרטיבים, בתי הספר היהודיים, בהם השקיעה יק"א מאמצים
וכספים כדי לקדם את רשת בתי הספר שיסדה עם תחילת ההתיישבות, וכ'. מידע ונתונים
רבים מדוחות אלה התפרסמו בדוחות השנתיים שהוציא לאור הועד המנהל של יק"א
בפריס (והכוללים גם תיאור של פעילות החברה בארצות שונות בעולם).
חומר רב ובעיקר בצורה של
ספרים גדולי מימדים, קיים כמובן בתחום הכספים, הנהלת חשבונות ותקציבים, חובות
המתיישבים, מפקדים ומשק במושבות, וכ'.
תיקים לא מעטים עוסקים בהגירה
ובמהגרים יהודים לארגנטינה, נושא שיק"א פעלה בו במרץ, וניתן למצוא בין
המסמכים גם רשימות של אוניות ושמות של מהגרים שהגיעו באותן השנים מאירופה.
הסדרה האישית כוללת כ-7000 תיקים אישיים,
ושל מוסדות אחדים, שסודרו אלפביתית לפי מושבה ועל פי שמות משפחה.
לרוב התיקים מכילים חוזי
רכישה או חכירה בין היק"א לבין מתיישב (או מוסד כמו קואופרטיב או משרד
ממשלתי), ולפעמים הסכמים בין מתיישבים אחדים לבין החברה המיישבת. מסמכים אלה
מלווים לעתים קרובות בתכנית מפורטת של החווה או השדה.
חלק מהתיקים מתייחס לחלקות
אדמה שנרכשו ע"י אנשים שונים, יהודיים ולא יהודיים, במרכזים העירוניים שהוקמו
ע"י יק"א – צמודים למושבות – החל בסוף 1907 .
חשוב להדגיש שהסידרה אינה
כוללת בוודאי את כל המתישבים ולא כל התיקים הגיעו לארכיון, רבים נעלמו במשך השנים
עוד בארגנטינה, וגם חלק מהמסמכים חסרים או ניזוקו.
כן ראוי לציין כי מושבות
גדולות היו מורכבות מקבוצות קטנות של מתיישבים שנשאו שמות שונים: המושבה קלרה
לדוגמה,כללה יותר מ-10 קבוצות וביניהן קורבלו, פיינברג, גינזבורג, קלבו. כדי לאתר
מתיישב באחת הקבוצות, יש לחפש את שמו ברשימת מושבת-האם הגדולה אליה השתייכה
הקבוצה.

עם האגודה לקידום המחקר של יהדות אמל"ט

האגודה הישראלית לקידום המחקר של יהדות אמריקה הלטינית הוקמה בשנת 1986 ביוזמתם של
חברי אמיל"ט – אגודת מחקר על יהדות לטינואמריקה. בין מטרותיה, עידוד
ההוראה, המחקר והדיון הציבורי על הקהילות היהודיות הללו ומתן שרות לציבור המבקש
לדעת עליהן יותר. מאז הקמתה הייתה האגודה שותפה לקיום כינוסים מדעיים, ימי
עיון והרצאות בשיתוף חוקרים מישראל ומחו"ל. האגודה תומכת בהוצאה לאור של
כתב-עת ,היחיד בעולם, על הנושא יודאיקה לאטינואמריקנה, מעודדת את כתיבתן של
עבודות בבתי הספר התיכוניים, מפיצה בין חבריה פרסומים שונים שראו אור בארץ
ובעולם ומשתתפת בפעילויות של תיעוד, איסוף חומר ארכיוני ועריכת פרסומים
ביבליוגראפיים. |

documentos de
Sobresale igualmente una
colección de Informes sistemáticos enviados por las colonias, que
detallan su actividad corriente, la situación de los campos, la siembra,
las cosechas, las Cooperativas, las escuelas judías, en las cuales
invirtió
Mucho material, especialmente en
forma de libros gigantes, existe en temas contables, relativos a inversiones y
pagos a las colonias, pagos y deudas de colonos, financieros, presupuestos,
censos personales y de hacienda de colonos, etc.
1 Lista de Legajos
Administrativos
La
Serie de Legajos Individuales contiene cerca de 7000 legajos personales
(y algunos de Instituciones) de colonos que han llegado a este Archivo, que
aparecen ordenados alfabéticamente por apellido en cada colonia. Las
carpetas contienen en general contratos de compra-venta y / o de arrendamiento
entre la Asociación y los colonos, u otros documentos como planos de
campos o chacras, en los cuales figuran a veces uno o varios colonos firmantes.
Alrededor
de 1000 carpetas incluyen contratos de compra de lotes de terrenos
pertenecientes a la JCA, realizadas por pobladores israelitas y no
israelitas establecidos en los centros urbanos contiguos a las colonias,
fundados por la Asociación desde fines de 1907.
Asimismo,
la lista incluye legajos firmados entre la JCA y diversas instituciones
como Cooperativas, Sinagogas y Oficinas Gubernamentales.
Cabe
señalar que la mayoría de las colonias grandes estaban formadas
por pequeños grupos de colonos, cada uno de los cuales poseía su
nombre. En
Evidentemente
no todas las carpetas han sobrevivido los diferentes traslados, en algunas
falta documentación importante, y otras estàn en mal estado de
conservación.

Este
proyecto fue elaborado en colaboracion con
Promoción de la Investigación del Judaísmo Latinoamericano

Desde
su fundación, la Asociación ha participado en la
organización de conferencias acedémicas y simposios, en
colaboración con investigadores y especialistas de Israel y de otros
países; además, ella apoya la edición de Judaica
Latinoamericana, el único periódico académico dedicado a
ese objetivo. La
Asociación estimula a estudiantes del ciclo secundario a escribir
ensayos sobre el judaísmo latinoamericano, distribuye publicaciones
entre sus miembros, participa en proyectos de documentación y
colección de material, y en la preparación de publicaciones
bibliográficas. |
