The Programming Instruction Unit has been teaching the computer service courses at the Hebrew University for the last 30 years. Different courses are organized for students of different disciplines (Faculty of Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, etc.). The overall number of students each year is about 2300.
The unit has a staff of 10 instructors who teach about 60 courses each year.
The programming languages taught are Java, C++ , Matlab and Visual Basic for Applications. Some courses teach programming concepts using a PC Windows application package (SPSS, EXCEL STATA or ACCESS).
